Building of Bath Museum
This museum tells the story of Georgian Bath's history, making it an excellent place to begin an exploration of the city.
Housed in the Gothic Countess of Huntingdon's Methodist Chapel, the museum was originally built in 1765 but was renovated fairly recently in 1984 by the Bath Preservation Trust. It features an exhibit on how Bath came to be the most fashionable spa retreat in Georgian England from its humble beginnings as a small town resort. The story is told using paintings, maps, models, reconstructions, hands-on demonstrations and live craft exhibits, and visitors can even access information from a touch-screen computer.
